Join Minden Rotary and Friends September 26, 2023 for a Blue Jays Game!

Each year, Minden Rotary cleans up debris from a portion of a roadway in Minden. In 2024, we will take to the streets for clean up on May 6, 2024 and will be working on a portion of Bobcaygeon Rd.

What are these?  These are the scavenger hunt signs for the Minden Rotary Scavenger Hunt. 

 

Canada Day 2022 in Minden started off cloudy and ended with sunshine! Rotary served up hot dogs, peameal on a bun and beverages to the community!

Minden Rotary annually cleans debris from a portion of Deep Bay Road. This year the cleanup was also the club's contribution to Rotary's environmental project to cleanup the Great Lake's watershed.

In 2022, Minden Rotary has supported Life 4 Kids Canada, an international initiative that provides a loving home for homeless and abandoned boys in Nairobi, Kenya.

 

Life 4 Kids rescues and nurtures abandoned children in Nairobi, Kenya, providing for their emotional, physical, and educational needs. They empower the children to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. They can accommodate up to 25 boys living in the home at any given time and focus on quality care, healing from trauma, emotional nurturing, quality education, adequate health care and quality housing, all provided with love.

Rotary Wheels for Learning in an international project conducted in Cambodia. The project provides bicycles to disadvantaged rural children, and funds Water Sanitation and Hygiene projects at rural schools throughout Cambodia.

Thank you to everyone who came out to join us for Minden Rotary’s Gala Dinner Celebration on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Minden Community Centre. Aaron Walker’s team served a delicious prime rib buffet dinner. Gala attendees were in good spirits catching up with friends and neighbours, and celebrating 75 years of Rotary service in the Minden community!

Shelter Box Canada works to ensure that no one is left without shelter after a disaster. In addition to work in Ukraine, ShelterBox is currently responding in 9 other countries, and prepared to go where they are needed next. As Rotary International's Partner in disaster relief, together we can continue to ensure families receive life-saving aid when they need it most.

 

Minden Rotary is participating in the End Polio Now Tulip Campaign. Boxes of tulip bulbs are being sold until June 1, 2022. One box of tulip bulbs costs $25 and these funds go towards the End Polio Now Tulip Campaign. Boxes will be delivered in late September for planting, which means they should bloom in the Spring of 2023!

Fundraiser starts Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Minden Rotary Gala Dinner Celebration. Submit your order form by June 30, 2022 to Lynda Litwin and your Fielding's Wine delivered by mid-July to enjoy with family and friends this summer.

2021 in Canada, abounding in fresh water lakes, there are boil water orders in effect. These are disproportionately in indigenous communities. Minden Rotary has chosen to support the District 7010 Water First program. This program addresses a root cause for the boil water orders, a shortage of trained water treatment plant operators. When disaster strikes anywhere, Rotary responds. Minden Rotary is no different. In 2021, we chose the Canadian Red Cross BC Flood Relief as the organisation we are supporting to bring much needed assistance to our fellow Canadians.
